Folks, this month’s tarotscope has range. We have some hopeful reads and some that remind us to rest and be kind to ourselves. No matter what you’re going through, know that you’re not alone.

  Strength Card

  This month is well-aligned with Leo season. The Strength card reminds us that there are many faces to strength, resilience and tenacity. Sometimes this looks like bold, striking moves. Sometimes this looks like grace and patience — aka slow (or no) movement.

  Notice what the universe is asking you to do, and then honor it—even if it feels counter to your nature.

  If you refuse, I hate to tell you this, but my mother always says, "Life will teach you the lesson until you learn it.” So practice exhibiting true strength this month.

• Aries

  4 of Swords in Reverse

  Aries, have you been caught in a bind? Hiding? Running? That is unlike you. Even if no one else catches you in this act, you have too much integrity to be dishonest with your own self. It’s time to have a heart-to-heart with your spirit and figure out what’s making you feel like a nervous rabbit in hiding. Stop stewing in the panic and confusion–it is unbecoming of you. Instead, center yourself and find your grace. The 4 of Swords features one sword positioned beneath the sleeping knight. I often think of that sword as King Arthur’s sword. It has been earned. Don’t forget your power.

  9 of Cups in Reverse + bonus King of Swords jumper card

  Taurus, last month you got the 9 of Wands in reverse. This month you have the 9 of Cups in reverse. This tells me that you are nearing the end of a cycle, or perhaps multiple cycles. Are you having a difficult time relinquishing control? Are you bristling at the thought of change? I want to remind you of a quote that says, “Home isn’t the place, but the people.” You are what makes any room or situation special. Even if you are stripped of a title or superficial “powers,” you will never lose your true innate value. Have faith that you will continue to shine. 

  Lastly, your King of Swords jumper card makes me want to remind you to choose your words wisely. Lean on diplomacy even if and when you want to use sharper language. Your future self will thank you for it.

• Gemini

  The Fool, Reverse

  Gemini, are you overthinking what you should be focusing on? Take the leap! Lean into your more spritely nature. Remember that life should feel more like a game, and less of a chore. Your reading is short this month, because I don’t want to enable you to get into your head. Get out there! Chase whimsy. Do the scary thing. Live!

• Cancer

  The Lovers

  Sweet Cancer, this card couldn’t be more fitting for you! Your cup runneth over with love and devotion. Savor this warm, bubbly feeling. Indulge in it, if anything. And remember this if and when you face choppy waters in the future. You were loved, you are loved, you deserve love. You will be loved again and again. Sometimes, you forget when other emotions take center stage. But never question how lovable you are, and whether or not your love is deserving of being witnessed and held. The people around you are so lucky to be blessed with your magic–and to see your art and magic. 

  And, for any Cancers who aren’t having the rosiest of seasons… this card beckons you to find more balance between your divine masculine and feminine. Life is about yin and yang. Where are you overdoing it? Where do you need to shift your energies? Now act accordingly.

• Leo

  2 of Swords

  Wow, Leo! Last month you had the Justice card; this month you have the 2 of Swords, which is all about decision-making. I get the feeling that you’ve been in a sticky situation for some time. Take a breath. Take a timeout, and then get moving. No one else is going to make the call for you. You need to figure out a way forward–and my only hint for you is that you’re going to have to choose to put yourself first. 

  Whatever you’re experiencing is going to help you forge your way to a more independent future. My sense is that you’re feeling hesitant, either because you are someone who likes to be a pack animal or because you fear the lonely road. Whatever the case, I want to appeal to you and make the case that you’re most likely overstaying your stay in this current situation and life chapter. There’s a whole wide world out there waiting for you.

• Virgo

  Knight of Wands

  Virgo, it’s almost your season! The Knight of Wands invites you to dance. This read is similar to Gemini’s, so perhaps you have a prominent Gemini placement in your chart. Virgos have a strong rep for being serious and locked in, but–like with every sign–who’s to say a Virgo can’t be multifaceted? I’m not sure if you’re in the mood to hear this, but I’ll say it anyway: Virgo, it’s time to let loose and see what happens. Take the exit ramp and go on a side quest. The main quest will always be there.

• Libra

  Libra, it’s time to learn how to juggle and manifest differently. If you are feeling like a typical Libra, you may be thinking to yourself, “But I need more data–more context, more details, more evidence before I move forward!” Here’s some tough love: waiting will only lead to stalling. It’s time to get things moving. Opportunity’s knocking on your door, and it won’t wait forever.

• Scorpio

  5 of Wands

  My dear Scorpio, it looks like you may be getting caught in the crossfire of a group situation. This is the classic, “But I didn’t start the fire!” card. The tarot’s advice for you is to relax and surrender. Do not fight fire with fire. Do not offer more help than is appropriate. Let other people learn their own emotional lessons. It’s not your job to do someone else’s karmic homework, Scorpio! 

  If you still find yourself tempted to over-help, think of things this way: How would this be a distraction from your life path or purpose? What else could you be doing with your time (and your peace) if you stopped holding on to worries, grudges, being overly responsible or loyal, etc.? Where else could you put your energy?

• Sagittarius

  2 of Cups

  Ooo la la, Sag! Love is in the air. Are you having fun chasing butterflies and trying new things? Go for it! Live a little. Just remember that, while it’s a joy to feel so buoyant, you’ll have to eventually come back down to planet Earth. When you do, you’ll have to ground yourself just a little. Or else you’ll end up feeling unmoored and disillusioned. 

  I want to encourage you to focus on balance this month. How can you add some whimsy into the more serious side of your life? And vice versa. Focus on integration more than polarities.

• Capricorn

  Cap, are you ready to be courted?--or to court something or someone else? I’m excited for you! Your reading is making me think of the Sagittarius reading, if I’m being honest. Is love in the air for you too? Or are you fancying a new idea or project? Whatever this latest obsession is, I want to encourage you to explore it. 

  Extra advice: If you are feeling hesitant to take a chance on something because it doesn’t meet your typical Capricorn standards of perfection (I mean, satisfaction)... give it a chance. One quick tango on the dance floor doesn’t mean lifelong commitment. See what happens if and when you open up your heart. You may just be surprised!

• Aquarius

  9 of Swords

  Wow, Aquarius! This card makes me want to suck in my breath and say, “Prepare for a world of pain–and for some resolution after the rain.” This is going to be a big and heavy month for it. Sweet the bitter and bitter the sweet. You will most likely experience both extremes this month. While the image of this card may look tragic (historically it depicts someone crying or recovering from a headache while sitting up on their sickbed), I have always interpreted this card as a message of hope. The artwork reminds me of the human tendency to hope again and again. Have the audacity to live another day, and thus to try again and again.

• Pisces

  King of Pentacles

  This is the ultimate plot twist, Pisces! After having a cosmically tough year last year, you have emerged as the Zaddy à la the King of Pentacles. You have earned your keep here, and thus your power and sway. So move with purpose and confidence. People should be afraid and intimidated. They should listen to what you have to say, and they should respect it too. Now’s the time to strike if you have ideas, qualms or something else to share with the crowd. The people are waiting. Now wear your crown with pride!
